Photomapping Strengthens its Alliance with United Photo and Graphic Services

One of our key suppliers for over 20 years, United Photo and Graphic Services are now an affiliated partner company of Photomapping Services. Lindsay Saunders, Director of Photomapping Services, acquired United Photo and Graphic Services in 2006 and with a further large capital investment, Photomapping greatly expanded its airborne spatial capabilities and competitive edge.

Photomapping continues to utilise the aerial photography and film processing services of United Photo and Graphic Services. The common directorship allows seamless flight–to–product service provision and priority flight planning to clients. We also offer exclusive access to the Victorian Government and Australian Government aerial photo archives as a licensed reseller.

Photomapping Acquires LiDAR Scanning Capability

Photomapping is now equipped with the latest in world leading Airborne Laser Terrain Mapping (ALTM) measurement technology. Our Optech Gemini Multipulse LiDAR records 3D elevation data at up to 167kHz. The Optech LiDAR features multi–pulse data capture enabling more efficient and economical data collection with the added advantage of an integrated medium format 39 Megapixel digital camera for simultaneous image capture in either Infra–Red or True Colour. Utilising the camera combined with the LiDAR provides a viable option in critical incident response or high volume aerial survey requests.

Benefits to customers include fast turn around for large area mapping, and simultaneous mapping of the ground and above ground features such as trees and buildings. It is particularly useful for Forestry and Mining sector applications such as determining harvest volume, health of lots, mine site mapping, quarry stock levels, and greenfield planning.

Photomapping Captures Rural Victorian towns

Working with the Victorian State Government’s Coordinated Image Program (CIP), Photomapping in conjunction with United Photo and Graphics Services captured high–resolution aerial photography of rural townships throughout Victoria and Melbourne satellite towns.

Photomapping now sell government sourced imagery procured through the Victorian Government’s Coordinated Image Program (CIP).

Up to date images of metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, and Wodonga are now available. We sell the GIS spatial data too!

Photomapping Updates Vicmap™

Photomapping has been busy updating Vicmap data through a multi–stakeholder partnership with Geoscience Australia. Using existing spatial data, orthophoto mapping and satellite data is being used to update both the spatial position and metadata of the full range of spatial feature types throughout the State. We’re improving the quality of the data for existing users and potential new uses of better spatial information.

Farm & Land Management Mapping

Photomapping Services has noticed an increase in demand for farm management mapping. This increase in rural demand for precision mapping services was one of the factors that influenced the expansion of Photomapping into our Bendigo office in regional Victoria.
